Network structure

panOULU network is the joint public network of City of Oulu, University of Oulu, Oulu Polytechnic, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Elisa Plc., Netplaza Ltd. and Oulun Puhelin Plc.

panOULU network comprises of the visitor networks provided by City of Oulu, University of Oulu, Oulu Polytechnic and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and the visitor networks implemented with panOULU subscriptions provided by Elisa Plc., Netplaza Ltd. and Oulun Puhelin Plc.

Visitor networks

• KampusWLAN: the campus WLAN of University of Oulu
• OuluNet: the campus WLAN of Oulu Polytechnic
• OukaWLAN: City of Oulu's WLAN network, which covers a large number of public service points such as libraries, schools, sports facilities, health stations, city hospital, City Hall, City Theatre, Science Centre Tietomaa, and Youth and Cultural Centre NUKU. City of Oulu's COMPETENCE Oulu 400 program will expand OukaWLAN by 400 AP's in 2006-2007.
• RotuaariWLAN: the outdoor network covering the city center and market area, built in cooperation by MediaTeam Oulu research group of the University of Oulu and Oulun Puhelin Plc. in the Rotuaari research project.
